Dhaka Capitals claimed a thrilling 5-wicket victory over Rajshahi Warriors in Match 3 of the BPL 2025–26. All thanks to a dominant all-round bowling performance from Dhaka, followed by late-overs batting heroics to seal the win in Sylhet on Saturday, December 27.
Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the match 3 of the Bangladesh Premier League 2025-26 between Dhaka Capitals and Rajshahi Warriors as it panned out at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Saturday, December 27.
Dhaka bowlers keep Rajshahi in check
After being asked to bat first, Rajshahi Warriors posted a below-par total of 132. They lost Sahibzada Farhan early against Imad Wasim for a golden duck in the very first over, putting immediate pressure on the innings.
Tanzid Hasan and skipper Shanto steadied things, adding quick runs, reaching 52 for 2 inside the powerplay. The partnership looked solid but Tanzid could not capitalize his start, opening the door again for Dhaka to have their grip on the game.
Imad returned later to take two quick wickets, including last-match hero Shanto for 37 off 28. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Nawaz tried to rebuild but struggled as Dhaka kept control, with Imad starring at 3 for 16 and Salman Mirza took one wicket conceding just 17 in four overs.
Shamim, Sabbir’s late fireworks rescue Dhaka in tricky chase
Chasing 133, Dhaka Capitals made a steady start, scoring 42 in the powerplay despite losing both openers. Abdullah Al Mamun held the innings together, keeping the scoreboard moving and ensuring the chase stayed on track.
However, Rajshahi fought back through Mohammad Nawaz, whose impactful left-arm spin spell changed the momentum as he picked up three wickets, including a set Abdullah, for 21 runs, putting Dhaka under pressure and leaving them with an equation of 35 off 24 on a surface not easy for hitting.
Just when Rajshahi sensed hope, Sabbir Rahman and Shamim Hossain counterattacked in the death overs. They smashed back-to-back big overs off Sandeep Lamichane and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, sealing the chase comfortably as Dhaka crossed the line with seven balls to spare.
