Pakistan's premier batter Sahibzada Farhan registered his second consecutive failure in the Bangladesh Premier League as he was dismissed for a duck in Dhaka Capitals' group-stage clash against Rajshahi Warriors at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Opening the batting for Dhaka Capitals, Sahibzada Farhan departed on the very first delivery of the match, recording a golden duck in the process.

Sahibzada Farhan extends poor run in BPL

Right-handed opening batter Sahibzada Farhan grabbed the limelight when he hit some glorious sixes off Jasprit Bumrah in the high-voltage India-Pakistan encounters during the Asia Cup this year. Although Pakistan lost the final of the competition, Farhan earned massive applause for showing remarkable consistency in the tournament.

He was also impressive in the T20I tri-series at home, scoring 191 runs at an average of 47.75. However, the BPL 2025-26 has begun on a rough note for Farhan, who has managed only 20 runs in his first two innings. The Pakistani batter took 19 balls for his 20-run knock in the first match before falling for a golden duck in the subsequent contest.

Interestingly, Sahibzada Farhan's own countryman Imad Wasim emerged as his nemesis in the Dhaka vs Rajshahi BPL clash. Bowling the first over for the Warriors, Imad targeted Farhan's pads as the batter tried to flick the ball through the leg side. However, he lost his balance in this process, and Mohammad Mithun stumped him with his sharp reflexes.

Sahibzada Farhan's form: A concern for Pakistan before SL T20Is

While Saim Ayub has blown hot and cold with the bat in recent times, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman have yet to convince the Pakistani selectors with their respective batting forms. In such a scenario, Sahibzada Farhan is undoubtedly the backbone of Pakistan's batting unit, having tasted stellar success since the Asia Cup. So, as the Men in Green prepare for the Sri Lanka T20Is, Farhan would be desperate to get his mojo back in the upcoming BPL matches.
