It was a run-feast in Centurion as we witnessed, two sensational hundreds, one Chris Gayle record broken, some poor bowling and fielding howlers as South Africa hunt down a target of 259 with 6-wickets in hand.

Quinton de Kock slammed his maiden T20I century (43-balls) as South Africa made a mockery of a mammoth 258. Records were broken as this was the highest successful run-chase in T20I history.

Johnson Charles smashes fastest T20I century for WI

West Indies had a horror start, losing Brandon King early on. But that was the only moment of joy for South Africa for the next one hour as Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers showed the West Indian flair as took the attack to the opposition.

On a wonderful day in Centurion, it was the Johnson Charles 'storm' that blew away the opposition as he went berserk right from the word go. Not often do you see Mayers playing a second fiddle, but such was the day as Charles played a chance-less innings and no South African bowler was saved from his havoc.

The number three batter smashed 10 fours and 11 huge sixes to bring up the fastest T20I century by a West Indian batter, eclipsing the previous record set by Chris Gayle off 47 balls.

Despite Mayers and Charles both going back to the pavilion towards the slog end of the innings, the late and great flourish was provided by Rovman Powell (28 off 19), and Romario Shepherd (41 off 18), as the visitors posted a mammoth 258 on the board.

QDK makes a mockery of the chase

South Africa needed something extraordinary from their openers to hunt down the total, and they got just that from Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks. The onslaught started right from ball one and in the blink of an eye, in the third over, the Proteas had breached the 50-run mark.

No bowler had their economy below 10, and that shows the brute hitting from Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks. QDK, normally known for his finesse, showed his prowess in the power-hitting and was the aggressor in the partnership. With each passing moment, the impossible target looked possible.

En-route to a 43-ball sensational hundred, de Kock smashed the fastest fifty by a South African batter (Just 15 deliveries) and provided a solid momentum to his side, before he went back after scoring his maiden T20I century.

The onslaught didn't stop there as every other batter to follow chipped in with quick-fire runs and Aiden Markram turned out to be the game-changer, with a blazing 21-ball 38 to steer his side past the winning line.
