They boast a star-studded squad filled with immense talent, and have acquired a balanced squad ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Each franchise has that one player, who is known as the difference maker. And for RCB, that player is Glenn Maxwell. In a squad that has the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Josh Hazlewood, Maxwell provides something that nobody else can replicate - A three dimensional variety in the RCB setup.



Why Maxwell?

Known as the 'Big Show' for his immense prowess with the bat, Maxwell is cut from a different cloth. He is not afraid to take risks and brings that aggression in the RCB middle order, which they lack at the top.

He had a poor 2020 IPL season with Punjab Kings, and doubts creeped whether he can replicate the same form when RCB showed trust in the Aussie batter and bought his services in the 2021 IPL mega auction.

And guess what? He repaid the faith with a stellar first season. He slammed 513 runs, at a strike-rate of 144.10, and was their most reliable batter in the seasons. Whenever RCB needed him, he bailed them out of the precarious situations. As mentioned above, he is a true definition of a 3-D player.

If not with the bat, he can give you four overs on a good day and can chip in with crucial wickets if needed. Don't be surprised if in the upcoming season, Faf decides to open the bowling with Maxwell if there is a left-hander on the other end.

Maxwell's batting suits the shortest format of the game. So far Maxwell has played 377 T20 matches, and has racked up 8451 runs. If we talk about IPL, he has piled up 2319 runs in 110 matches.
