KKR’s explosive finisher Andre Russell regained his form against RR in the recent IPL 2025 clash. He hit a blazing 57* off just 25 balls to help Kolkata a total of 206 runs in the first inning, and KKR fans adored Russell’s power on social media.

Kolkata Knight Riders, desperate to get points to stay alive in playoff contention, faced Rajasthan Royals in a crucial IPL 2025 encounter. At 12.4 overs, the team had 111 runs on the board at the loss of 3 wickets.

Just then, Andre Russell and Angkrish Raghuvanshi stitched a 60-odd runs partnership with the former showcasing his vintage form.

Raghuvanshi played an important knock of 44 off 31 balls. However, it was Andre Russell who switched gears in the death overs to help KKR post a par total on the board.

He hit Maheesh Theekshana for 23 runs in the 18th over, followed by a 12-run over against Jofra Archer. Russell brought up his half-century in 22 balls and ended the inning with an unbeaten 57 off 25 balls, including 6 towering sixes.

Rinku Singh also helped with a crucial 19* off 6 balls as KKR managed to put 206 runs on the board at the end of the first inning.

Meanwhile, Andre Russell has been under tremendous pressure this year as he failed to live up to expectations in the first half. It was important for him to snap out of his rough form to help KKR stay in contention for the playoffs.

Moreover, Kolkata also learned their lesson and promoted Russell up the order to ensure he gets his time to settle and hit the death overs. Naturally, a vintage knock from the Caribbean impressed the fans and they praised him on social media.
