In the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens, the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first. KKR, batting first, didn't got off to the desired start as Sunil Narine returned to the pavilion early on in the innings. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane and Rahmanullah Gurbaz stitched a partnership for the 2nd wicket and amassed 56-runs together.

It was a difficult game for Rahane as the KKR skipper was batting in pain as he injured his finger in the last match against DC and was seen with heavy taping during toss. Talking about Rahane, he shared a beautiful moment with Wanindu Hasaranga as the Sri Lanka bowler tied Rahane's laces mid-match.

Ajinkya Rahane Struggles Against RR

KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, who is having a season to remember, struggled against Rajasthan Royals and played a sluggish knock of 30 (24), which featured a single four and two sixes. Eventually, RR captain Riyan Parag managed to get rid of the KKR captain. Looking at Rahane's numbers in IPL 2025, then he has amassed 327 runs in 10 innings, averaging 36.33.

Meanwhile, shedding light on Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lanka spinner too had a game to forget as the right-arm spinner went wicketless and registered the spell of 0/35 in his four overs. Overall, Hasaranga has had an average tournament as he has taken 10 wickets in nine innings.

Talking about the ongoing match, at the time of writing this article, KKR are 154/3 after 17.3 overs with Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Andre Russell still at the crease.
