After an incredible weight loss journey, Rohit Sharma is all set to make a comeback in international cricket after almost a 6-month break. One of the greatest hard-hitters ever in the history of cricket, the 'Hitman', will be playing in India's ODI tour to Australia, starting from 19th October.

After taking retirement from T20Is and Test cricket, the former Indian captain will be hoping to secure a berth in India's squad for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

That being said, he is on the verge of recreating history. Rohit Sharma, who already holds the record for most sixes in international cricket, only needs 8 maximums to go past Shahid Afridi for most sixes in ODIs.

Rohit Sharma's ability to hit the ball out of the park is unarguably one of the best in white ball cricket. His stats, especially in OneDays, display his prowess as a batter. As he sets to return in action against Australia, playing the three-match ODI series, there are high chances that he breaks Shaheed Afridi's record for most maximums in ODIs.

Rohit has scored 344 sixes in ODI cricket, second best after Shahid Afridi, who scored 351 sixes. If Sharma can hit eight sixes in Australia, he will top the charts of most sixes in ODI cricket. Moreover, Rohit will also become the fastest to 350 ODI sixes in world cricket. Afridi took 398 matches to score 350 sixes, and Rohit has so far played just 273 ODIs.

The Indian opener with 205 sixes in T20Is, 88 in Tests and 344 sixes in ODI, is already the player with most maximums in international cricket, hitting as many as 637 sixes. As the Australia series is set to go underway from 19 October, fans will be able to catch their favourite players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma back in the national colours.
