On Sunday, March 9, India locked horns against New Zealand in the finals of the Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium in UAE. Rohit Sharma again lost the toss for a record 12th straight time in ODIs, and New Zealand opted to bat first.

The Men in Blue are eying their 3rd Champions Trophy title, and it is a special match for Rohit as there are several reports floating on the internet indicating that the hitman might hang up his boots in ODI cricket after the Champions Trophy 2025 final.

While Rohit hasn't made any remark on his India future, the fans are keeping a keen eye on Rohit's actions on the field to get a hint on his future plans. Meanwhile, a video has flouted on the internet where Rohit was seen praying before the first ball was bowled while he placed his hands on the Indian logo on the jersey.

The visuals left fans concerned as they also assumed it to be Rohit's final match in white-ball cricket for India and fear a big announcement after the final.

Rohit Sharma Struggling For Runs In Champions Trophy 2025

Despite scoring a century in the ODI against England in Odisha, Rohit has struggled for runs across formats and fans have also called for his ouster from the team. Talking about Champions Trophy 2025, then the hitman has just 104 runs in four innings, averaging just 26.

Now it is to be seen whether the Indian captain will bid adieu to the format or not, but he is certain to continue his role if India go onto win the title. Talking about the match, at the time of writing this article, New Zealand are 35/0.
