Fans on social media lashed out at Cricket Australia over a controversial dismissal involving Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Indian opener was adjudged out on the basis of ball deflection despite negligible movement on the snicko meter.

The Boxing Day Test between India and Australia began on a controversial note with Sam Konstas and Virat Kohli's faceoff, and it will perhaps end with another big controversy.

In the final session, Yashasvi Jaiswal was fighting a lone battle from one enc as wickets fell quickly on the other end. He was building a crucial partnership with Washington Sundar to push the game towards a draw.

Yashasvi Jaiswal dismissed on 84 amid controversy

However, Jaiswal's dismissal against Pat Cummins stirred a massive controversy. The drama unfolded in the 71st over, where Jaiswal, who had looked solid and confident, fell to a well-executed short ball from Cummins. With the field set for such a delivery, Jaiswal went for the pull shot but gloved it straight to Alex Carey behind the stumps.

However, things took a dramatic turn when, despite no spike on the ball-tracking system, the umpires were convinced by the visual evidence and overturned the on-field decision, sending Jaiswal back to the pavilion. Australia's celebrations erupted, leaving Jaiswal visibly disappointed with the decision.

Meanwhile, fans on social media were livid with the decision. Many called Australia cheaters and felt that Jaiswal was robbed. Some also picked out faults in the snicko meter as concerns over its accuracy have been raised previously in the series as well.

That being said, Yashasvi Jaiswal went back to the hut on 84 off 208 balls with India seven wickets down. India must weather the final hour to yield a draw and save the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
