In the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL 2024), Dambulla Sixers finally broke their losing streak of three games against Colombo Strikers in Match No. 10 at the  Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla on July 7. 

Earlier in the match, Dambulla Sixers won the toss and opted to bowl first and restricted Colombo Strikers to a competitive total of 185 with effective spin bowling and sharp fielding.

The highlight of the match was the stunning acrobatic fielding effort from Glenn Phillips at the boundary line to save a six during the host's innings. 

The incident occurred in the 6th over when Thisara Perera, captain of the Colombo Sixers, bowled a slow off-cutter that was pulled by Kusal Perera.

Glenn Phillips was fielding at the deep mid-wicket and attempted to save the maximum as he jumped high in the air caught the ball in his left hand and showcased good reflexes and pushed it back onto the field.

Earlier, Dambulla Sixers skipper Mohammad Nabi won the toss and invited the Strikers to bat first. They posted 185-6 in their 20 overs with a significant contribution from Glenn Phillips' half-century.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Angelo Perera provided them with a much-needed start at the top of the order, with Chamika Karunaratne's cameo towards the end of the innings helped Colombo Strikers put up a challenging total on the board.

Colombo Strikers just never looked they they had the belief to win this game and failed to maintain momentum and the Dambulla Sixers chased down the target and won the match by 8 wickets.
