Kuldeep recreates old magic [Source: @OneCricketApp/x.com]
Kuldeep Yadav was India’s most valuable bowler against the UAE in the Asia Cup as the wily spinner showcased his magic and scalped four wickets to stun the host nation. In just 13 legal deliveries, he scalped four key wickets for just 7 runs as the UAE got bundled out for their lowest T20I total (57).
On a wicket which had something for the spinners, Kuldeep wreaked havoc as the UAE batters had no answer to his guile. Out of the wickets that he picked, one scalp was a special one - the dismissal of Harshit Kaushik.
He bowled a googly to the left-handed batter as Kaushik came forward for a block, but the ball drifted in to beat the bat-pad gap and shattered the stumps. This delivery stunned the UAE batter, and it reminded of the same delivery, which Kuldeep bowled to Pakistan’s Babar Azam in the 2019 World Cup.
Kuldeep recreates the same magical delivery 6 years later
India and Pakistan collided in the 2019 World Cup group stage match, and the Virat Kohli-led side batted first and posted 336/5, courtesy of a stellar century from Rohit Sharma, and fifties from Kohli and KL Rahul. Pakistan had a stiff task, and they lost a couple of early wickets before Babar steadied the ship.
The Pakistan batter looked compact as he approached the target. The right-handed batter played some delightful strokes as Kohli brought his trump card, Kuldeep Yadav in the attack. The wily spinner then produced a magical moment and bowled the same delivery that he delivered to Kaushik in the Asia Cup clash.
Babar went for a block as the ball deceived him, and it knocked his stumps. This turned the momentum in India’s favour and the Men in Blue won the match comprehensively via DLS method (as rain arrived to ruin the contest).
