RCB-W beat MI-W by 11 runs in the final fixture of the WPL 2025 season. Batting first, Smriti Mandhana’s fifty and Georgia Wareham’s cracking finish helped RCB post a gigantic total of 199 runs on the board. In the second inning, despite Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 69 off 35 balls, Mumbai Indians failed to hold wickets and fell short of 11 runs.

Here’s how RCBW vs MIW panned out in Mumbai:

Captain Smriti Mandhana Slams Fighting Fifty

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women batted first with Sabbhineni Meghana coming out to open alongside Smriti Mandhana. Both batters stitched a 41-run partnership in just 3.4 overs before Meghana lost her wicket.

Despite the setback, Mandhana had another 59-run partnership with Ellyse Perry. The two talented batters helped RCB surpass the 100-run mark in the 12th over. While Mandhana hit 53 off 37 balls, Perry also added a quick 49* off 38 balls. With that, the stage was set for a big finish for RCB.

Georgia Wareham’s Carnage Helps RCB Post 199-Run Total

In the death overs, Georgia Wareham unleashed carnage against Mumbai Indians Women. Perry and Wareham punished Amanjot Kaur for 18 runs in the 19th over before targeting Amelia Kerr to fetch big 21 runs in the final over of the first inning.

Wareham hammered 31* runs off just 10 balls and helped RCB-W put 199 runs total on the board. For Mumbai Indians, Amelia Kerr had an awful day as she leaked 47 runs in 3 overs with 15.70 economy.

Sneh Rana’s Dual Breakthroughs Rattles Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians Women had a horrible start to the challenging chase. Sneh Rana bowled exceptionally well in the powerplay to claim the wickets of both openers Hayley Matthews and Amelia Kerr.

While Matthews miscued a slog sweep, Amelia got a thick edge while trying to attack the bowler by dancing down the track. However, Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt rebuilt the inning with a 40-run partnership for the third wicket.

RCB-W Beats MI-W By 11 Runs

Nat-Sciver Brunt unleashed her inner beast to slam a blazing 69 off 35 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes. However, she failed to receive any support from the other end. Brunt saw her partner lose wickets one after another and eventually, Mumbai Indians Women failed to build a substantial partnership.

As a result, the required run rate went up with MI reduced to 140/6. RCB bowlers kept on attacking Mumbai’s tail and eventually, the latter fell short of 11 runs and RCB-W clinched a consolation victory on their way out of the tournament.
