In a remarkable achievement, explosive South African batters Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton became the first opening pair to stitch a 200-run stand in SA20. The dynamic duo achieved the landmark during MI Cape Town's ongoing SA20 fixture against Joburg Super Kings at the iconic Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg.

Opening the batting for MI Cape Town, Van der Dussen and Rickelton stitched a mammoth 200-run stand for the first wicket, thereby creating the record overtaking the previous best of 157-run partnership between JSK's Faf du Plessis and Reeza Hendricks.

After winning the toss, Joburg Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis opted to bowl on Johannesburg's placid surface. His decision proved to be a nightmare for the Super Kings, as Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton hammered their bowlers to all parts of the ground.

South Africa's batting mainstay, Van der Dussen, completed a sensational ton in this process, amassing 104 runs off only 50 balls with the help of nine fours and six monstrous sixes. On the other hand, Rickelton cruised to another flamboyant fifty for the second consecutive time in the tournament.

After Van der Dussen's departure, Dewald Brevis joined the middle to ensure a fitting finish for MICT. As of writing, the visitors are all set to finish on a high note, placed at 207 for one in 16.1 overs.
