After registering their maiden World Cup victory over a Test-playing national, Afghanistan are engaged in clashing swords against New Zealand at Chepauk in Chennai currently, hoping to hand the Kiwis their first defeat of the tournament.

Afghanistan notched up a stunning 69-run win over defending champions England in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday, opening up the competition.

Spinner Rashid Khan, who starred in Afghanistan's win, showcased his style and swag ahead of the New Zealand encounter, taking to social media platform 'X' and uploading pictures of himself from training session.

The ace leg-spinner shared pictures of himself wearing cool sunglasses, captioned "Got my 🕶  and swag 🔛"

Khan, who has been unable to pick wickets against top nations in ODIs, claimed scalps of Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, and Mark Wood in Delhi, where he announced his World Cup arrival, having picked just two wickets against India and Bangladesh, combined.

Khan is the leading wicket-taker for the Afghanistan side so far with five, with Mujeeb Ur Rehman coming second best with three.

With Afghanistan playing all their remaining World Cup matches on comparatively spin-friendly pitches, Khan could very well be a game-changer and help his side inflict more upsets in the ten-nation tourney.

The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side are placed sixth in the ICC WC 2023 points table, with one win and two losses, and find themselves ahead of Bangladesh, Australia, and the Netherlands, on the virtue of a better net run rate.
