In a remarkable achievement, Mushfiqur Rahim made his 100th Test memorable, slamming a magnificent century in the ongoing contest between Bangladesh and Ireland. While useful contributions from Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mominul Haque ensured a solid start for Bangladesh, Rahim led the hosts' dominance with a majestic ton. Thus, the veteran cricketer joined an elite list of cricketing greats, including Javed Miandad, Ricky Ponting and Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Hundred in 100th Test places Rahim among greats of the game

Mushfiqur Rahim struck five boundaries for his valiant 214-ball 106 before being dismissed in the 99th over. With the gritty ton, Rahim became only the eleventh batter to score a century in his hundredth Test appearance. Here's a list of all batters who have achieved the phenomenal milestone in the past.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto is the only batter from Bangladesh to depart for a single-digit score in the second Test against Ireland. However, Litton and Mehidy Hasan Miraz's fighting stand has powered Bangladesh to 416 for five in 126 overs. As of writing, Litton and Miraz were batting on 119* and 39*, respectively.
