After Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Bangladesh cricketer and the 11th man in the history of cricket to score a century in his 100th Test, the veteran also paired up with Litton Das for an unprecedented record that surpassed every other tally for the country. 

Notably, Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim paired for the maximum number of times in a 100-plus run partnership for Bangladesh in Tests in the ongoing BAN vs IRE second Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. 

Most 100-plus partnerships for Bangladesh pair in Tests sees Litton-Rahim record

Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim had a gritty partnership which started on day one and evolved into day two before Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed by McBrine in the 99th over. The partnership saw Mushfiqur score 49 runs while Litton scored 58 to stitch up a total of 108 runs from 208 deliveries.

The fifth-wicket stand was the most in the first innings for Bangladesh as the second one ranks with Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim, who stitched up 107 runs before Haque was dismissed in the 64th over.

Notably, this partnership was the highest as it surpassed other numbers of 100-plus partnerships for Bangladesh pairs with names like Habibul Bashar, Javed Omar, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shakib Al Hasan, who paired up five times to have 100-plus run partnerships.

Mominul Haque scored 63 runs while Mushfiqur Rahim played a gritty ton laced with five boundaries. Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who are at the crease, are also playing comfortably with Das at 90. The Ireland bowlers, however, saw only Andy McBrine bag four wickets for them while Matthew Humphreys scalped 1 wicket.
