New Zealand's rising star, Rachin Ravindra, once again showcased his cricketing genius by slamming his second World Cup 2023 century in a thrilling match against Australia on Saturday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Ravindra's second century cemented his place among World Cup elite

At just 23 years and 244 days, Ravindra has etched his name alongside the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, becoming only the second batsman in history to score two World Cup hundreds before turning 26.

The young left-hander's latest ton came in dramatic fashion, illuminating the Dharamsala stadium. The 36th over, bowled by Glenn Maxwell, featured the highlight of the Kiwi innings.

Presented with a fuller-length delivery around the off-stump, Ravindra, with panache and confidence, got down on one knee and dispatched the ball with a powerful slog sweep into the mid-wicket stands.

The roaring crowd could not help but rise to their feet, celebrating the magnificence of the shot and the youngster’s monumental achievement. This remarkable feat comes after Ravindra's scintillating century in the tournament opener against England, further cementing his status as one of the most promising talents in the cricketing world.

From a historical perspective, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar was the first to reach this milestone at the young age of 22 years and 313 days. Today, Dharamsala witnessed Ravindra joining Tendulkar in this exclusive club which is an attestation to his burgeoning potential.

Meanwhile, chasing a massive target of 389, New Zealand are 314/6 in 43 overs. James Neesham and Mitchell Santner are in the middle as they look to complete this record chase. The Kiwis need another 75 runs from 42 balls to secure a win for the ages.
