Given the geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, constant security threats arise when either nation's sporting personalities travel across the border. After visits from Pakistan's Hockey and Football teams earlier, their national men's cricket team, led by Babar Azam, is in India for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Ahead of their fourth WC match against Australia at Bangalore on October 21, a blast in the city on Tuesday raised false alarm among fans following several misleading posts from Pakistan-based journalists on the social media platform 'X'.

Investigations suggested that it was a cylinder blast at a cafe and not an attack projected by a few on social media. In response to one Pakistani journalist, Karnataka Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar replied about how Azam and Co. are safer in India than back home.

Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics & Technology further cheekily corrected false claims

Here's what Minister said

"There's a remarkable consistency in how some Pakistanis embarrass themselves as world class clowns (not the circus type either). Desperate to see some .. any bad news from India - for them a cylinder explosion in a restaurant is also occassion to celebrate & gloat 😅😆🤣 .Pakistan Cricketers are probably safer in India than in Pakistan itself  🤣"

So far, Pakistan have enjoyed its stay in India, having had multiple outdoor team dinners in cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore, respectively

The Pakistan-Australia clash will be played at M. Chinnaswammy Stadium on Friday.
