It was carnage under the Rawalpindi lights as Peshawar Zalmi demolished Multan Sultans in Match 9 of PSL 2025. After posting a massive 227/7, thanks to a middle-order power surge, Zalmi turned the heat up with the ball and bundled out the Sultans for just 107 in under 16 overs.

What started as a high-stakes run-chase quickly turned into a one-sided beatdown with Multan collapsing like a house of cards. From six-hitting fireworks to a wicket-fall frenzy, this game had everything except a fight from the Sultans.

Here are Peshawar Zalmi vs Multan Sultan highlights from the PSL 2025 match in Rawalpindi-

Babar And Saim Continue To Fail

The innings didn’t exactly begin with a bang for Zalmi. In fact, it was more of a false start. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam were both sent packing inside the first three overs, managing just 2 runs each.

David Willey and Michael Bracewell struck early to leave Zalmi reeling at 5/2. At that moment, it looked like Zalmi had walked into a minefield with no plan. But cricket, as always, is a game of glorious uncertainties.

Haris And Cadmore Take The Attack To Multan

Enter Mohammad Haris and Tom Kohler-Cadmore and the game flipped like a coin. The duo went full beast mode as they the bowlers to all corners of Rawalpindi. Haris played the aggressor with a blazing 45 off 21 balls, while Cadmore brought the fireworks with a 30-ball 52, packed with five mighty sixes.

They stitched up a 79-run stand that gave the innings a second wind. By the time they were done, Multan’s bowlers were running out of answers and out of breath. Bracewell and Ubaid finally broke through but the damage had already been done.

Owen And Samad Deliver The Knockout Punch

Just when Multan thought they could catch a break, Mitchell Owen and Abdul Samad stepped on the gas and never let go. The pair added 73 runs in just 30 balls, absolutely tearing the bowling attack to shreds.

Owen’s 34 off 15 was fast and furious but Samad stole the show with a blistering 40 off 14, striking at 285.71. Every ball he hit stayed hit. It was raining sixes, and Multan had no umbrella. The final overs turned into a massacre and Zalmi ended up with a colossal 227/7 on the board.

Rizwan And Hope Fall But Usman Khan Shows Fight

Chasing a mountain of 228, Multan Sultans needed to come out all guns blazing. Mohammad Rizwan gave the chase a spark with a quickfire 15 but Saim Ayub pulled a rabbit out of the hat with the ball and dismissed the Sultans’ skipper.

Shai Hope and Usman Khan then tried to steady the ship. Usman, in particular, looked like he was batting on a different wicket as he smacked 44 off just 22 balls with 3 sixes.

At 84/3, there was still hope. But little did they know, the collapse that followed would be nothing short of a train wreck.

Ali Raza And Arif Yaqoob Trigger A Royal Meltdown

If there was ever a bowling spell that ripped through like a hot knife through butter, this was it. 17-year-old Ali Raza was breathing fire as he picked up 4 wickets in the blink of an eye. He removed Kamran Ghulam, Michael Bracewell, Ashton Turner and Iftikhar Ahmed in quick succession

On the other hand, Arif Yaqoob joined the party with three scalps of his own. From 84/3, Multan crumbled to 107 all out. No resistance. No plan B. By the end of it, even the scoreboard seemed embarrassed.

What was set up to be a high-octane chase turned into a full-blown demolition job. Zalmi bowlers bowled with fire in their belly, and Multan? They just folded like a cheap tent.
