The match 36 of IPL 2025 turned out to be another disappointing match for Rajasthan Royals, as they choked again in the run chase and lost the game to LSG by two runs. They were chasing 181, and started off with a bang, as debutant Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal played aggressive cricket.

Riyan Parag Opens On Loss vs LSG

They looked set to chase down the total with ease, but failed to chase down nine in the final over again with plenty of wickets in hand. After the match, Riyan Parag, the skipper of RR, in absence of Sanju Samson opened up about the loss.

Riyan Parag stated that he is finding it hard to understand what went wrong for them and added that they were in the game till the penultimate over. He boldly accepted that he should have finished the game and would blame himself for the loss.

"Um, it's really hard to process all the emotions right now. I don't know what we did wrong. I think we were in the game probably till the 19th over actually. After that, I don't know. I think someone should take the responsibility. I probably blame myself because we should've finished off the game. When we play the full 40 overs collectively, after that we can expect a win."

Riyan also mentioned that they let things drift away with the ball in the first innings and added that LSG got 15-20 runs more with Abdul Samad playing well.

I think we did really well. The last over was unfortunate. I thought that we would be able to restrict them to around 165-170 max. The last over was pretty unfortunate. Sandy bhai had an off day and Abdul Samad batted really well. So, I thought that they got 15-20 runs over par.Today, the wicket played perfect. We knew how it would play but unfortunately, we blame ourselves for the performance."

Rajasthan Royals are now at the eighth position on the points table with just two wins in eight matches while LSG have got 10 points in their kitty.
