PBKS Breaks MI's Record To Register Highest-Ever Total At Sawai Mansingh Stadium

Punjab Kings (PBKS) were at their absolute best against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) as they belted their bowlers to all around the park and blasted 219/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite losing three early wickets, the Punjab side weren't fazed as Shreyas Iyer, Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh took RR to the cleaners.

In the process, PBKS posted 219, the highest-ever score IPL score at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The previous best total at this venue was scored by Mumbai Indians (217/2) vs RR in the ongoing edition.

SRH also slammed 217 runs in the 2023 edition Vs RR, but since they lost 6 wickets, they occupy the third spot.

Wadhera-Shashank hammer RR bowlers

At one stage, PBKS were 34/3 and were in danger of getting bundled out cheaply. However, Nehal Wadhera showed his class and looked in imperious touch as he blasted a quick-fire 70 off 37. Shashank Singh, who came into bat at number 6 gave the finishing touches.

The PBKS finisher hammered 59 off 30 balls and took their score past the 200-run mark. In reply, the RR openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi went bonkers as they slammed 76 runs for the opening wicket inside 5 overs and laid a foundation for a winning formula.
