The Nida Dar-led Pakistan women's team bagged their maiden victory in the Asia Cup 2024 as they crushed Nepal by 9 wickets in Dambulla on Sunday. Gul Feroza's half-century, an unbeaten 46 from Muneeba Ali, and Sadia Iqbal's two wickets helped the Women in Green revive their campaign after getting thrashed by India a couple of nights ago.

After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bowl, but the Nepalese team could not stand tall against the Pakistani bowlers' prowess.

Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana shared three wickets between them, whereas Nepal lost three batters in run-outs, with Sita Rana Magar topping the charts with her 26 as the team ended the innings at 108-6 after 20 overs.

In the chase, Nidar Dar sent Gul Feroza and Muneeba Ali as openers, and the duo stood up to the expectations. The former scored a fine half-century, hitting 10 boundaries before getting toppled by Kabita Joshi.

On the other hand, Muneeba Ali could not notch her fifty but stayed unbeaten on 46 after facing 34 balls.

Eventually, Pakistan won by nine wickets with 49 deliveries still in the bank. They opened their account after playing two matches in the tournament.
