Hasan Ali lit up Edgbaston with a brilliant hat-trick and a match-winning spell of 6 for 23 as Warwickshire defeated Derbyshire by 58 runs in the 36th match of the T20 Blast 2025. The Pakistani pacer turned the game on its head in the 16th over when he dismissed three batters in successive deliveries, sending the Edgbaston crowd into a frenzy.

Hasan's Hat-Trick That Bowled Over Derbyshire

The hat-trick started with the dismissal of Ross Whiteley, who had just completed a gritty half-century. Trying to go big, Whiteley reached out to a full ball outside off and hit it straight to George Garton at long-off.

Ali followed it up with another wicket off the next delivery. Alex Thomson tried to flat-bat a hard-length ball but ended up miscuing it straight to Garton again, who moved smartly inside the circle to complete a clean catch.

On the hat-trick ball, Hasan Ali bowled full and straight to Ben Aitchison, who missed it entirely as the stumps were sent flying. Hasan runs off the pitch and performs his famous 'chainsaw celebration' almost at the midwicket boundary amidst the electric atmosphere.

Earlier, Warwickshire posted a challenging total of 199 for 6 after being asked to bat first. Tom Latham top-scored with a solid 58 off 42 balls, while Alex Davies added a fiery 49 from just 29. Moeen Ali provided late fireworks with an unbeaten 33 off 17 balls, supported by George Garton's explosive 16* off 4.

Hasan's 6-Wicket Haul Tumbles Derbyshire

In reply, Derbyshire crumbled under pressure, getting bowled out for 141 in just 17.1 overs. Wayne Madsen’s 46 and Whiteley’s 50 kept them in the chase for a while, but Ali’s devastating spell dismantled the lower order. Derbyshire lost their last six wickets for just 38 runs.

Hasan Ali’s impact was undeniable. His ability to break partnerships and strike in clusters with his 6-wicket haul was key in sealing the win. He not only delivered with pace and precision but also brought energy and experience to the Warwickshire bowling unit.
