Pakistan is set to face Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the three-game series on Thursday, November 13. The match will be held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium at 3:00 PM IST.
Pakistan
Pakistan managed to hold their nerve in the first ODI, clinching a narrow 6-run win in a match that went right down to the wire. The hosts were rescued by Agha Salman, whose brilliant century (105 off 87 balls) turned the tide after an early collapse.
Hussain Talat’s composed 62 and Mohammad Nawaz’s quick-fire 36 ensured a strong finish at 299/5. With the ball, Haris Rauf led the charge with 4 wickets. However, the rest of the bowling attack lacked consistency, allowing Sri Lanka to get close to the target.
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka came agonisingly close in the first ODI, falling just 6 runs short despite Wanindu Hasaranga’s superb all-round show. His 59 runs and 3 wickets nearly pulled off a remarkable chase after early momentum from openers Pathum Nissanka and Kamil Mishara. However, Sri Lanka’s middle order faltered under pressure.
The bowling attack looked sharp, with Hasaranga, Dilshan Madushanka, and Kasun Rajitha troubling Pakistan early on. They’ll aim to capitalise on Rawalpindi’s conditions, where the average first-innings score is around 240–250, favouring disciplined bowlers.
