The Asia Cup 2023 match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been delayed due to continuous rain on Thursday (September 14). As a result of unpleasant weather conditions, not a single over has been bowled in the match which decides who will join India in the all-important final against India at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Regrettably, overs have reduced since 4:30 PM IST in accordance with the rules. Therefore, it is certain that there will not be a full 50-over game, even if the game starts.

In a recent development, confirmed by the sources of OneCricket, there will be a 45-overs-per side game between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The toss will take place at 5:00 PM IST, while the match will get underway 15 minutes later, at 5:15 PM IST.

The powerplay divisions are set to be nine overs, 27 overs, and then nine overs again.

Suppose Pakistan versus Sri Lanka gets abandoned, Dasun Shanaka and his boys will join India in the ultimate finale as a result of a better net-run-rate (NRR) than his opposition.

A 20-over game is mandatory in ODIs in order to produce a result. Due to the lack of balls so far, the final cut-off time for a 20-over contest is 9:02 PM IST.
