Due to the constant rain at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the crucial Asia Cup 2023 match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been postponed indefinitely. However, as they have been doing for some time, the Men in Green announced their starting XI the day before the match, and there they revealed Zaman Khan would make his 50-over cricket debut.

Zaman, 22, has competed on Pakistan's domestic circuit for some time and is well known for his express pace. He will take Naseem Shah's place, who is no longer eligible to participate in the competition due to a shoulder injury.

Prior to the game, Haris Rauf, who is also recovering from an injury and did not bat against India in their previous match, presented Zaman with the illustrious ODI cap. The 29-year-old prayed for Zaman's success on the global stage and sent him his best wishes.

The possibility that Zaman will perform against Sri Lanka on Thursday, however, is very difficult to foresee. The situation is not looking good right now, and if the rain does not stop by the deadline, Sri Lanka will advance to the Asia Cup final and play Rohit Sharma's India.
