The 35th game of World Cup 2023 between Pakistan and New Zealand was turning out to be an entertaining affair before rain played spoilsport and halted Pakistan's progress in their 402-run chase. Pakistan were 160-1 when rain halted the proceedings but now rain has stopped and play is set to resume at 6:20 PM IST and it will be a 41-over chase. The revised target for Pakistan is 342 and they now need 182 off 117 balls.

This could be advantage Pakistan as they now have a realistic chance to chase down the total with 9 wickets still in hand. However, New Zealand would be hoping that the rain break would help them break Pakistan’s momentum and few quick wickets after the resumption can put Pakistan under pressure.

Fakhar Zaman though will be key as he was in blistering form and is batting on 106 off 69 balls with 7 fours and 9 sixes. Babar Azam, on the other hand, is batting on 47 off 51 balls and they would be looking to continue the momentum.

However, Kiwis do have quality in their bowling attack and it is all setup for a fascinating chase as Pakistan eye a memorable win to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
