After two breathtaking matches in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the runs and wickets taking charts saw a bit of a shuffle. In the first game, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Gujarat Titans by six wickets, while the second game turned out to be an absolute humdinger, where Sunrisers Hyderabad won by eight wickets.

In the first encounter, Gujarat Titans posted 180 runs on the board, whereas Lucknow Super Giants chased the score down in 19.3 overs, winning in an exciting game where Nicholas Pooran's 61 and Aiden Markram's 58 came in handy.

Talking about the evening match, the Punjab Kings posted a gigantic 245, powered by Shreyas Iyer's 82, but was bettered by Abhishek Sharma's marathon knock of 141 from 55 deliveries, as the Sunrisers side went on to achieve the target with nine deliveries and eight wickets to spare.

Mitchell Marsh, who was unavailable for this game, remains at third, while Shreyas Iyer, who played another magnificent knock of 82 from 36 balls, jumps to fourth position with 250 runs, and Jos Buttler's 16 runs helps him get to fifth position with 218 runs.

IPL 2025 Purple Cap List

On the Purple Cap list, Noor Ahmad still retains the cap with 12 wickets from six matches at an average of 13.16 and an economy rate of 7.90, while Shardul Thakur, who bowled four overs for 34 runs and took two wickets, is at second position with 11 wickets in six games, whereas Hardik Pandya slips to third position with 10 wickets in four matches.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans duo of Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore, who picked two wickets and none respectively, are at fourth and fifth with 10 wickets apiece. The players on third, fourth, and fifth position all have 10 wickets, only being separated by average and economy rate.
