Alex Hales Becomes Second-Highest Run-Scorer In T20 Cricket
The big-hitting English opening batter Alex Hales, now a global T20 freelancer, has been spending time across various leagues, playing for different teams, and smashing boundaries, even at the age of 36. Hales, who consistently performed for England during his days, has now been giving his time to various teams, where his performance has been consistently brilliant across different conditions.
In the recent encounter between the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) and the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2025, Hales played an outstanding 74-run knock, which included seven gigantic maximums and three boundaries, as during this innings, he went past his teammate's tally in the record chart.
Previously, in the last game, Kieron Pollard scored 19 runs to go past the 14,000-run mark, becoming only the second player in history to achieve this landmark in T20 cricket overall.
Now, Hales, after this excellent effort, has joined the bandwagon, as he's not just crossed the 14,000-run mark but has also surpassed Kieron Pollard with the second most runs in T20 cricket, as he now has 14,024 runs in 590 matches at an average of 30.02, with a brilliant strike rate of 145.44.

In reply, the TKR side chased the score down comfortably in 17.2 overs, as the duo of Alex Hales and Colin Munro (74 and 52 respectively) helped TKR earn their fourth consecutive victory on the trot by six wickets at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
Despite opposition skipper Imran Tahir's four-wicket haul, TKR chased successfully, where Andre Russell in the end played a cameo of 27* runs off 14 deliveries to take his side home by six wickets and 16 deliveries to spare.
