The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 continues as New Zealand Women (NZ-W) take on Bangladesh Women (BAN-W) in Match 11 on Friday, October 10 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The high-voltage contest will begin at 3:00 PM IST and will be crucial for both teams aiming to resurrect their campaigns.
New Zealand Women
It has been an abysmal start for New Zealand Women, who have suffered two consecutive defeats to begin their campaign. They first went down to Australia Women by 89 runs and in their recent outing, they lost to South Africa Women by six wickets despite posting a competitive 231.
Captain Sophie Devine led from the front with a fine 85 but the rest of the batting lineup, particularly Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green failed to make it count. With the ball, Amelia Kerr was the standout as she snagged two wickets while Jess Kerr and Lea Tahuhu took one apiece. Heading into Guwahati, New Zealand will need their top order to fire collectively and their bowlers to maintain discipline if they are to open their account in the tournament.
Bangladesh Women
Bangladesh Women began their campaign in style with a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan Women but their momentum was halted by a four-wicket loss to England Women in the last match. After being invited to bat first, Bangladesh were bundled out for 178 despite a fighting 60 from Sobhana Mostary, a gritty 30 from Sharmin Akhter and a late flourish of 43 off 27 by Rabeya Khan.
With the ball, Fahima Khatun impressed with figures of 3/16 from 10 overs while Marufa Akter picked up two wickets. However, the rest of the bowling unit failed to build pressure consistently. To upset New Zealand, Bangladesh will need a complete team performance, both in the top order and with the ball.

Barsapara Cricket Stadium pitch report
The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati offers a batting-friendly surface where runs flow freely once batters get their eye in. Pacers usually get limited assistance, though spinners come into play as the match progresses. Recent matches have shown that bowlers who vary their pace can make an impact but stroke-makers who apply themselves early tend to dominate. Considering the trend and the possibility of evening dew, the captain winning the toss is expected to bowl first and look to chase under lights.
