The first T20I between New Zealand and Pakistan witnessed a high-scoring encounter at Eden Park, where almost all bowlers got canned for runs without the exceptional Tim Southee.

Southee, a veteran of 118 T20Is, starred with the ball for the hosts in their 46-run victory and picked a memorable four-wicket-haul, which also helped the bowler become the first-ever player to pick 150 international 20-overs wickets.

Prior to the Auckland encounter, Southee had 147 T20I wickets and picked up scalps of Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abbas Afridi, and Haris Rauf to go past the magical 150-wicket tally.

The 35-year-old is already the most successful bowler in T20Is with 151 wickets and is closely followed by Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan (140), Afghanistan's ace spinner Rashid Khan (130), fellow countryman Ish Sodhi (127), and Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga (107).

Southee also became the third bowler to claim a T20I hat-trick, where he picked up the wickets of Pakistan batters Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, and Umar Akmal in 2010.

The New Zealand pacer is the country's second-highest Test wicket-taker with 374 scalps and the third-highest in ODIs with 221 victims under his belt.

Overall, Southee is the most successful bowler for New Zealand with 746 wickets in 375 appearances, including twenty five-wicket hauls and one ten-for.
