'No Real Plans...' Marcus Stoinis Went Without Plan to Dismiss Jos Buttler

It was a great pullback by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) who defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 10 runs after the bowlers did their job brilliantly to defend a below-par total. Lucknow's Kyle Mayers slammed another fifty in the tournament while in the bowling department, Avesh Khan did his job brilliantly to pick up a three-wicket haul.

However, there was contribution from one man who used his all-round skills to score 21 runs and bag two crucial wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler to keep his side in the game. It was none other than Australia's Marcus Stoinis who was awarded player of the match for his wonderful performance.

After receiving his award, Stoinis revealed that there was no plan in his mind to dismiss dangerous Buttler but his short balls worked well in this case. He mentioned that it wasn't an easy wicket to bat on which meant that they had to control their game with the bat by avoiding scoring quickly.

The Perth-born ended it by saying that he is absolutely fit and it depends on his captain if he wants him to bowl in the upcoming matches.

"Nice to get involved with the ball, had no real plans to get Jos out that way but I just used some cricketing smarts and bowled it short into the wicket. We identified this is a difficult wicket, so we realised we don't need a 50 off 20 balls on this surface. (On whether he will bowl more) You will have to ask the skipper that question, but fitness wise I'm ready to go. All good."

Marcus Stoinis and LSG will next take the field when they clash against Gujarat Titans on 22nd April.
