Rajasthan Royals have played some good cricket in IPL 2023 and came into their first home game in Jaipur as the table toppers. They were up against LSG and had the upper hand in the game for the most part of it but somehow lost their way at the backend of their run-chas while chasing a target of 155 on a tricky pitch.

RR eventually lost the game by 10 runs and Sanju Samson, the RR skipper sounded pretty disappointed after his team's heart-breaking loss.

Sanju said that it is not great to lose and they would have loved to win their first game in Jaipur. The RR skipper said they will learn from the loss and will move forward. He felt that with a powerful batters in their arsenal, they should have chased down the target.

"Not that great after the loss. We would have loved to win the first game in Jaipur but we will learn from it and move forward. With the batting lineup we have, we would have chased it down but they bowled well,"

Sanju also said that he was expecting a slow and low pitch and they got it in this game. He mentioned that they needed to play smart cricket and they were going well till the 9th or 10th over but Jaiswal's wicket changed things around. He also reckoned that 50 runs in five overs on the slow and low pitch and a big ground was a tough job and they will learn from their mistakes and signs off by applauding his bowlers for restricting LSG to a low total.

"I was expecting this kind of wicket with slow and low bounce and we got that tonight. You need to play some smart cricket. We were going well till the 9th or 10th over but as Jaiswal got out, we lost our way. Five overs and 50 required on this type of wicket and on this big ground is a tough job. We will be learning from our mistakes. We did a fine job to restrict them to a low total."

Rajasthan Royals will now play their next game against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Sunday, 23rd of April.
