Pakistan's wicketkeeper, Mohammad Rizwan, has been struggling for form in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2025. Playing for Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Rizwan played yet another slow knock with the bat.

Rizwan's Slow Knock Puts Pressure Back On St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots

In the 11th match of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, playing for Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Mohammad Rizwan batted at number four and played a sluggish knock of 30 off 26 deliveries before being caught and bowled by Shakib Al Hasan.

The right-hander could only manage two boundaries and a maximum while striking at a poor rate of 115.38. Rizwan turned out to be the second-highest scorer for his side in this contest, where Evin Lewis was the highest scorer, scoring 32 off 31 deliveries.

This knock by Rizwan couldn't help the Patriots much, as they could only gather 133 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs.

In return, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chased the score down with seven wickets and two deliveries to spare, where Karima Gore scored 52 not out off 47 balls, as the Patriots' side saw the defeat in Antigua.

Second Consecutive Failure In CPL 2025 After Pakistan Omission

However, for Rizwan, this was not the only failure. In the previous game, which was his first in this edition against Barbados Royals, he could only muster three runs after facing six deliveries, putting his side in further trouble. They then managed to put up a decent score on the board on the back of skipper Jason Holder's 38.

Two consecutive failures for the 33-year-old mean that his journey back to the Pakistan squad is tougher, considering he has not been at his best in the past few games, which has led to his downfall and eventually a snub from the Pakistan side for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

Pakistani coach Mike Hesson has clearly mentioned that he prioritises intent and strike rate in the T20 format, which has been missing from the two Pakistan stalwarts, Rizwan and Babar Azam, both of whom have not been selected for the upcoming showpiece multilateral event in the UAE.

For Rizwan to make a comeback, he will have to prove his mettle with the bat in the shortest format and score runs at a high strike rate to stake a claim in the side in the near future.
