New Zealand decimated Zimbabwe by a record win margin, their biggest in Test history, to complete a 2-0 sweep over the hosts. Zakary Foulkes mopped up the Zimbabwean tail on Day 3 with a scintillating five-fer to complete nine wickets for the match.

Zakary Foulkes Skittles Zimbabwe With Five-Fer

Zimbabwe started off their second innings on Day 3 after visiting skipper Mitchell Santner declared New Zealand’s first innings at their overnight score of 601-3 from 130 overs. Facing a deficit of 476 runs, Zimbabwe folded up for just 117 in 28.1 overs to succumb to an innings defeat of 359 runs, thus handing New Zealand their biggest Test victory in history.

Zakary Foulkes, who picked up four wickets on Day 1, mopped up the entire Zimbabwean tail with figures of 5-37 to complete nine for the match. Matt Henry also chipped in with two wickets to claim a sensational match haul 7-56, while Jacob Duffy dismissed Sean Williams before delivering the knockout blow.

For Zimbabwe, only Nick Welch at number three displayed any resistance with his composed knock of 47* from 71 balls.

Matt Henry (5-40) and Zakary Foulkes (4-38) picked up nine wickets between them on Day 1 as New Zealand bowlers shot out Zimbabwe for just 125 in 48.5 overs in their first innings. New Zealand racked up 601-3d in response from 130 overs, with domineering 150-plus scores by Devon Conway (153 off 245), Henry Nicholls (150* off 245) and Rachin Ravindra (165* off 139) as the ‘Black Caps’ gained a 476-run lead at the halfway stage of the match.
