After the fall of the first couple of wickets, Josh Inglis provided the momentum to the PBKS innings to get them going towards the target. But Inglis also departed soon, and the onus was on Nehal Wadhera and Shreyas Iyer to take the innings ahead.
The PBKS skipper played a blazing hand in the middle overs and propelled the team towards the target. Nehal Wadhera departed after playing a brilliant knock of 48 runs from 29 deliveries. Even after the dismissal of Wadhera, Shreyas Iyer kept his cool and played the innings of a life time. The PBKS captain stayed their till the end and took the team a memorable win.
Record Chase By Punjab Kings
Notably, this is the first time Mumbai Indians have scored over 200 runs and failed to defend it. The credit completely goes to Shreyas Iyer for playing a mesmerizing knock on the biggest of stages.
