In a massive setback for Pakistan, ace speedster Naseem Shah walked off the field after developing an injury during the ongoing Asia Cup Super 4 clash against Bangladesh in Lahore. Notably Shah sustained a shoulder injury while fielding in the game and was immediately taken off the field by the team physio.

The incident happened in the seventh over when Shaheen Afridi was asked by skipper Babar Azam to bowl the fourth over of his first spell. After bowling a dot ball, Afridi angled one into the pads, as the ball raced towards the fine leg fence after being reflected off Mohammad Naim's thigh pad.

Naseem Shah, stationed at the boundary, covered a considerable distance and dived to save a certain boundary for his side. However, while doing so, the seamer landed on his right shoulder, developing an injury in this process.

The visuals indicated a serious injury as Shah was immediately taken away from the field. Although the PCB is yet to release an official statement, it's speculated that Shah could possibly be ruled out of Pakistan's upcoming Super 4 encounter against arch-rivals India on Sunday, September 10, in Colombo. If this happens, Pakistan will suffer a significant blow, as the right-arm pacer has been in scintillating form in ODIs of late.

Regarding the game, Bangladesh have lost three early wickets, tottering at 46 for three in 8.4 overs, with Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy batting on 5* and 2*, respectively.
