Bangladesh legend Mushfiqur Rahim notched up the 12th century of his Test career, doing so against Sri Lanka on Day 1 of the series-opening first match at the Galle International Stadium. After reaching 105* from 186 balls by stumps on the opening day, the seasoned campaigner converted his innings into an epic 150-plus score shortly after the lunch break.

Notably, through the course of his latest batting masterclass, Mushfiqur also attained a rare record in international cricket, going past even the likes of Australia’s multi-World Cup winner Adam Gilchrist and blistering South African stumper Quinton de Kock.

Mushfiqur Rahim At The Top – Most Runs, Zero Bowling

Mushfiqur Rahim now tops a rare list of international players with most runs combined across all formats, with zero interest in bowling. The legendary Bangladeshi batter achieved the feat after cracking his 12th Test ton, doing so against Sri Lanka in Galle in mid-June.

Mushfiqur, currently standing on a pile of 15,509 runs without bowling a single delivery, went past former Australian wicketkeeper-batter and three-time World Cup winner Adam Gilchrist. Here is a list of three players with most runs to their names in international cricket without having a ball.

The 38-year-old also racked up 7,795 runs in 274 ODI matches for Bangladesh, and another 1,500 runs in 93 T20I innings to aggregate a combined tally of 15,509 runs from 527 innings at an average of 34.23.
