Mullanpur's Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium is all set to host their second-ever IPL match on Tuesday when Punjab Kings will go up against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 23 of the ongoing edition. Both sides have been pretty inconsistent thus far, making this contest more interesting for the viewers.

Placed at fifth and sixth positions on the points table, respectively, both Punjab and Hyderabad have won twice and lost as many. While the Shikhar Dhawan-led side have victories against Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, Pat Cummins & Co. have emerged as giant-killers this season, defeating Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The pitch at Mullanpur Stadium seemed like a very good wicket to bat on when Punjab faced Delhi for the first time in the IPL at this venue. It was a day game, and Rishabh Pant & Co. put on 174/9 on the board, batting first. Then Punjab saw off the target to bring delight to the home fans with four balls and as many wickets to spare.

A similar surface is expected to be a batting paradise again, although fast bowlers can get more favour than spinners, just like how it happened last time. At the same time, spinners were economical as well due to the dryness of the pitch, making it a perfect wicket for a game of cricket.
