Gujarat Titans were bundled out for 130 in 18.5 overs while coming to chase 164 on Sunday against Lucknow Super Giants in Match 21 of the IPL 2024 at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. The Shubman Gill-led side were never in the contest after coming to bat second before eventually enduring a 33-run defeat.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, GT skipper Gill was dissappointed with the batting performance they put on against Yash Thakur-led LSG bowling attack. In fact, Gill highlighted that the surface was so good to bat on, and their irresponsible batting display did not let them to be in the game.

"It was a good wicket to bat on, but poor batting performance by us. We got a decent start, but we lost wickets in the middle and couldn't recover from that. Our bowlers were exceptional, as they restricted them to 160-odd, just that our batters let us down," Gill said.

In addition, Gill mentioned the signifcance of David Miller's absence, who has not been in the action in the past two matches for the franchise due to injury concerns. At the same time, he also lauded his bowling attack for putting on a magnificent show.

"Miller is a kind of a player who can change a game in a couple of overs, this total was very gettable for us. I thought it was the last over of the powerplay, and I just wanted to make the most of it, just that I missed that bowl as I tried to play a bit to score. It was tremendous to watch our bowlers bowl, we were looking forward to restricting them around 160-165," Gill added.

GT will next play Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday (April 10) in Match 24 of the ongoing edition at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
