Multan Sultans finally found their mojo as they outclassed Lahore Qalandars by 33 runs in a high-scoring thriller at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. After three back-to-back losses, Mohammad Rizwan’s men came out swinging with the bat and then backed it up with a disciplined bowling display to grab their first win of PSL 2025.

Lahore Qalandars, chasing a massive 229, showed flashes of brilliance but lost wickets at crucial junctures and never quite got ahead in the race.

Here are Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars highlights from the PSL 2025 match in Multan-

Yasir Khan and Rizwan Go Full Beast Mode

Multan Sultans openers came out swinging like they owned the place. Yasir Khan looked like a man on a mission as he launched into everything short, full, or in his arc. He brought the crowd to their feet with a stunning 87 off 44 balls, cracking 6 fours and 6 sixes.

At the other end, skipper Mohammad Rizwan kept the scoreboard ticking with a punchy 32 off 17.

The pair added 89 runs for the first wicket, and before Lahore knew what hit them, Multan were flying at 79/0 by the end of the powerplay. Rizwan departed after scoring 32 off 17. It was a batting masterclass and Lahore’s bowlers looked like they were just there to make up the numbers.

Iftikhar Ahmed Turns Up the Heat At The Death

After the blazing start, things cooled off just a bit but Usman Khan chipped in with a handy 39 to keep the momentum alive. There were a few stutters in the middle but nothing too serious.

Then came Iftikhar Ahmed he broght the heat. Chacha didn’t waste time as he walked in and started tonking it like he was playing backyard cricket. With 40 off just 18 balls*, including 3 fours and 3 sixes, he took charge in the final overs and made sure Multan didn’t just post a big total, they went beast mode to end at 228/5.

Lahore’s bowlers were all over the shop. Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan got smoked and even Shaheen looked off-colour. It was a Multan masterclass, top to bottom.

Fakhar Zaman Fires But Top Order Crumbles

Lahore Qalandars began the massive chase with a bang or rather, a Fakhar-fuelled fireworks show. The southpaw smashed 32 off just 14 balls, including 3 sixes that had the Multan crowd gasping.

But just as he looked set to take the game away, Ubaid Shah brought him back to earth, and with that, Lahore’s top order began to wobble.

Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, and Daryl Mitchell all got in but didn’t hang around, playing cameos that never really threatened to shift the tide. From 49/2 to 87/4, Lahore’s chase started slipping through their fingers like sand.

Billings And Raza Swing Back But A Little Too late

In walked Sam Billings, and for a brief moment, the Qalandars' dugout dared to dream. The Englishman put on a show, belting 43 off 23 at a strike rate just shy of 190 but he was dismissed right when Lahore needed him to go the distance. His exit at 149/6 in the 15th over all but snuffed out Lahore’s hopes.

Enter Sikandar Raza, who fought till the end with a gritty 50* off 27 balls, trying to put lipstick on a collapsing chase.

But with wickets tumbling around him, the task became a mountain too steep to climb. Despite Raza’s best efforts, Lahore limped to 195/9, falling 33 runs short of the target as Multan’s bowlers, led by Ubaid Shah (3/37) and Usama Mir (2/26), closed out the game clinically.
