Despite failing to deliver the goods against South Africa in the first innings of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Travis Head will be a happy man as he overtook India's Rohit Sharma to attain a special Test feat on Day 1 of the one-off Test match at Lord's. In terms of runs it wasn't an eventful day and yet Head created history.

He scored 11 off 13 balls and in the process became the batter with second-most runs scored in ICC finals. Prior to the start of the WTC final, Head had 318 runs in ICC finals and needed 5 runs to go past Rohit. He achieved the milestone and now sits at the second spot.

While Rohit has 322 runs in 11 ICC finals, Head currently has 329 runs in just 4 innings, and it showcases his domination in the finals.

Virat Kohli, the Indian star leads the charts as the batter has 411 runs in 11 innings and while his achievement looks stellar, Head's conversion rate in the finals is almost out of the world.

Rohit sits at the third spot now with 322 runs while the Sri Lankan duo of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene occupy the fourth and fifth spot. Head still has one more innings left in the WTC finale and he'll be eager to go past Kohli with a big score.

Travis Head's love-affair with finals

In his first-ever final for Australia, Head slammed a sensational century against India in the WTC final, 2023. The Aussies were in a spot of bother before the aggressive southpaw smashed a counter-attacking ton go help his team win the title.

He then tormented the Indian side in the World Cup 2023 as the Aussie batter hammered a brilliant ton under pressure and gave his nation their 6th 50-over World title. The Adelaide Born batter failed to deliver in the first innings of the WTC final but will be eager to bounce back in next innings.
