India and Australia are facing off in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia. The home team won the toss for the match and opted to bat first.

The latest Test cap of Australia, Sam Konstas dominated the proceeedings of the first hour on Day 1 of the match. The 19-year-old batter toyed with the Indian bowlers bringing out all kind of innovations in to the table. 

He played blazing knock of 60 runs from 65 deliveries. His knock was decorated with six boundaries and four sixes. The postive intent showed by the young batter put India off the track and put Australia on the driver's seat. 

The best part of the brilliant knock was that he was unfazed by the occassion and the bowlers he was facing. He took the attack to even the best Indian bowler, Jasprit Bumrah during his stay in the middle.

Notably, Konstas slammed 34 runs off 33 deliveries during Bumrah's first spell of the day. This stands as the most runs scored by a batter off the ace Indian pacer in Test cricket. The Australian opener went past the great English batter Sir Alastair Cook. The move by Australia to play Konstas instead of McSweeney heavily worked in their favour as the home team pounded 112 runs in 25 overs on the first session.
