Sam Konstas has arrived like a storm for India in the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at MCG. Notably, Australia made one change to their side from the previous game. They dropped Nathan McSweeney and inducted Sam Konstas into the side. The 19-year-old batter displayed great attitude and guts to take the attack to the best Indian bowler, Jasprit Bumrah and put his team on the driver's seat early in the game.
While opening the innings with Usman Khawaja, Konstas seemed to struggle early in the innings. Especially Jasprit Bumrah was bowling great line and lengths and beating the outside edge of the right-handed batter continuously. The consistency of Bumrah, induced Konstas to bring out innovation onto the table and put the ace Indian pacer off his rhythm
On the fifth delivery of the third over, Konstas tried to reverse scoop Bumrah but did not connect. However, he did not get fazed by the failed attempt and tried to do the same again after some time. During the 7th over of the innings, Konstas successfully played the scoop and the reverse scoop against Bumrah scoring 14 runs off the over. The onslaught continued from the youngster and he again took the bowler in the 11th over of the innings.
Jasprit Bumrah Has No Answer To Sam Konstas's Crazy Batting
Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was not hit for six in Test cricket for the last four years and 25 Test matches. Sam Konstas brought an end to this streak and slammed the Indian genius of two sixes within an hour.
Incidentally, Konstas not only attacked Bumrah but also unleashed his fury on the other Indian bowlers. His aggressive attitude has taken the gas out of the Indian bowling and Australia have taken the advantage pretty early in the game.
