Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan achieved a new milestone during the 2nd T20 international against New Zealand on Sunday. Rizwan surpassed Mohammad Hafeez to become the leading six-hitter for Pakistan in T20 internationals.

Prior to the 2nd T20I against New Zealand, Rizwan had the joint most number of sixes to his name along with M Hafeez i.e., 76 sixes. However, he surpassed Hafeez after hitting a six to Tim Southee in the first over of the second innings against New Zealand on Sunday.

Mohammad Rizwan has now 77 sixes to his name in T20 internationals, followed by the likes of M Hafeez (76), Shahid Afridi (73), and Shoaib Malik (69) at second, third, and fourth position, respectively.

Rizwan hasn’t had a great outing in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. In the two matches he has batted so far, his scores read: 25 (14) and 7(5). The 31-year-old would be looking to come back strong ahead of the third match on Wednesday.

Rizwan has been phenomenal for Pakistan in the shortest format of the game. In 85 T20Is, he has managed to score 2797 runs at an average of 49.07.

Finn Allen’s blistering knock powers New Zealand to second consecutive win over Pakistan

New Zealand opener, Finn Allen produced a sensational knock of 74 runs in 41 balls in the second T2OI against Pakistan. Allen’s blistering start meant New Zealand crossed the 100-run mark in just 57 deliveries.

However, Pakistan bowlers pulled it back well in the second half of the innings by picking wickets in crucial intervals. Haris Rauf picked three wickets in the 19th over, while the last over from Shaheen Afridi went for just 7 runs. New Zealand scored 83 runs in the final 10 overs as Pakistan managed to restrict them to 194 runs at the end of the first innings.

Pakistan, once again, lost the openers early but Fakhar Zaman produced another stellar knock of 50 off just 25 balls. Babar Azam too carried on with his good form as he finished as the top-scorer for the team. The former Pakistan skipper amassed 66 off 43 but lack of contribution from the lower middle-order meant Pakistan couldn’t finish well.

New Zealand won the game by 21 runs, eventually, and took a 2-0 lead in the series. The third T20I is scheduled to be played on Wednesday at University Oval in Dunedin.
