After not being selected for the starting eleven against Delhi Capitals (DC), Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) right-arm pacer Matheesha Pathirana has been drafted in place of Shivam Dube for the second half of the game. The death-over specialist whose action resembles Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga has been a vital cog for CSK with the ball.

The 20-year-old has bowled well consistently during the fag end of the game where he has picked 10 wickets in seven matches at an economy of 7.61. Pathirana was retained by the yellow army before the last year's auction after being called in as a replacement to Adam Milne last year.

Also, it was Dube who got replaced as he struck a valuable 25 from just 12 balls with three sixes to his name. Previously, CSK were using Ambati Rayudu and Maheesh Theekshana as impact players and have now changed the plans a bit.

Earlier, CSK won the toss and opted to bat first as they posted 167 on the board after some late blitz from MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja helped the side to cross the par score.

By the time of writing, Delhi were 25 for two with both their openers David Warner and Phil Salt back in the pavilion.
