Shivam Dube has just completed 1,000 runs in his Indian Premier League career. The swashbuckling left-hander achieved this feat during the IPL match against the Delhi Capitals.
Having started his IPL career in 2019, Dube has been a revelation for the Chennai Super Kings this season.
Dube first made a name for himself in 2018 when he smacked left-arm spinner Swapnil Singh for five sixes in five balls in a Ranji Trophy game against Baroda.
He gained RCB’s attention and was roped in by the franchise the very next season. The southpaw also made it into the Indian side, but had an inconsistent run with the Men in Blue.
Dube’s turnaround came when CSK purchased him during the IPL 2022 auction. Since then, the 29-year-old has never looked back and has been the backbone for the Super Kings side.
In 11 matches in 2022, Dube scored 289 runs, with a strike-rate of 156. However, this season, he has been a different gravy for the CSK side. The middle-order batters has already racked up 290 runs in 11 matches, with a strike-rate of 156.76.
At the time of writing, CSK are 120 for 5 inside 15.3 overs. Dube was dismissed for a quick-fire 12-ball 25.
