[Watch] Devon Conway Doesn't Get Third Time Lucky as Axar Patel Traps Him Plumb in Front

Experienced Indian all-rounder Axar Patel drew the first blood for Delhi Capitals in their ongoing group-stage fixture against Chennai Super Kings. Patel, who was introduced to the attack in the fifth over, dismissed in-form CSK opener Devon Conway, who was riding his luck right from the start of the innings.

Notably, Conway got first time lucky in the third over, as Delhi Capitals didn't appeal for a caught behind where the replay indicated a clear spike in the snicko meter. If that wasn't enough, the opener from New Zealand survived another close LBW shout off Lalit Yadav, with the third umpire declaring him safe on the basis of an inconclusive evidence in the ultra edge.

However, the stylish southpaw was finally bamboozled by Patel, who bamboozled him with a well-disguised flighted delivery, that trapped him plumb in front of the stumps.

Earlier, CSK opted to bat first, as their skipper MS Dhoni reckoned the wicket to be on the drier side, expecting it to slow down in the latter half.

Although Conway looked scratchy and was eventually dismissed for a paltry 10, his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad showed a lot of promise with the bat before Patel bagged his wicket for a 18-ball 24.

As a result of Patel's sensational spell, CSK are 49 for two in 6.1 overs as of writing.
