Gill is now only the third Indian captain after Sunil Gavaskar and Virat Kohli to have hundreds in both innings of a Test match. In just 2 Tests, he has already surpassed 500 runs.
The series is turning out to be a breakout tour for Gill. What makes the achievements even more special is that this is his first assignment as Test captain. The leadership pressure appears to be bringing out the best in him.
That being said, at tea on Day 4, India has 304 runs with the loss of 4 wickets. The visitors lead by 484 runs.
