On Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders will cross swords against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the much-anticipated IPL 2024 final. Interestingly, the Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, annihilated the Orange Army in the qualifier 1 to make a grand entry into the final. 

On the other hand, Pat Cummins and his troops steamrolled Rajasthan Royals in the qualifier 2 to become the second finalist. 

With the two most deserving sides set to clash for one last time, the stage is set for the ultimate showdown.

In qualifier 2 between SRH and RR, the surface at M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai had some extra bounce, which the seamers (particularly those who hit the deck) capitalised on throughout the match. 

Apart from the spongy bounce, there was also a hint of seam movement for the fast bowlers as the ball deviated off the track at times. 

Moreover, the spinners found some genuine turn, posing a significant challenge for the batters in the qualifier 2. This is precisely why Heinrich Klaasen's counter-attacking knock against RR's experienced spin department proved to be a game-changer. 

But most importantly, there was no dew in Chennai during the second half of the SRH vs RR clash. So, the wicket got slower with time, with the SRH spinners doing a lot of damage to the Royals' lineup.
